What is HVAC?
Heating, ventilation, and air conditioning or HVAC is a cruicial system which controls the air temperature and air quality in your home. Usually one or more HVAC systems are used based on an estimate of the capacity and type of system required for a partiular building. The three main systems are...
These systems purpose is to generate heat for the home and is often done via central heating such as a boiler, furnace or heat pump which then heats steam, air or water in the furnace room. This heat is then transferred throughout the house via conduction, radiation or convection.
These are systems that change and/or replace the air in the spaces in your home and thus control heat, remove things like moisture, smoke, dust, odours, carbon dioxide and airborne baterials as well as replenish the oxygen. Ventilation can often mean moving outdoor air into the inside of your home and is one of the most important systems for maintaining air quality and comfort inside your home.
Air conditioners provide huidity control and cooling for your entire home, or just one room. The fresh air from outside is drawn into the ac system by a vent, and then into a chamber where it is mixed with the return air. This mixture then moves through a heat exchanger located on the inside or outside of your home where it is cooled before being moved back into your home.
